Summer 2009
Kate is riding RDJ Homespun Legend now and having a good year. They
started by winning the Mother's Day Circuit Futurity in Paso Robles,
CA and took home a beautiful buckle. At the Oregon Futurity Legend
kept up a steady pace for three goes and placed second in the
futurity picking up a nice check. Following Oregon was the
Watsonville Summer Celebration where Legend was Circuit Champion and
won another buckle for her efforts.
At the 2009 AQHA Youth World several Renes
placed well. In the barrel racing Lane Smith's gelding Got Another
gear was Reserve champion and Kristen Yunker's gelding Haul It Jet
placed 4th. In the stake race Lane and Got Another Gear placed 3rd
and Ali Einolander's mare, Sun Kissed Jet placed 6th. In the pole
bending Got Another Gear was 10th. Or congratulations go out to
these youths and their fine Rene horses. |

Another Rene wins big:
John and Brandon Hanning have been wining BIG since they bought back
the great Rene mare Strate Jets a Turnin'. They had sold her and
the buyer just wasn't getting along with the mare. Well, as
fortune would have it, Brandon got on with her just fine. In the
3 months since they repurchased her, they had made well over $7,000 on
the mare! Brandon was hitting the Midwest NBHA state shows and
placing 2nd in the youth and 6th in the open in Ohio, then off
to the Colonial National to take their money there. They seem unstoppable
